FeverFest 07: Kiss Carefully

“Kiss carefully – not an admonition about kissing,
an act of banality/an act of terrible depth,
but about the kissed one.”
Death, the One and the Art of Theatre, Howard Barker

August 22-25th, 2007
Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center

Wednesday thru Friday at 7:30pm
Saturday at 2pm

We're back!
Last year, FeverFest brought you an explosive collection of work by some of Boston’s hottest young theatre companies. This August, FeverFest 07 promises an entire week of theatrical exploration.
Five companies will join on one stage to present pieces inspired by Howard Barker's Kiss Carefully quote
– how does one mine the theatrical potentials of a careful kiss?

Dare to flirt with us this summer at what is sure to be an entertaining evening!

He loves video games, she doesn't. Sound familiar? Well, get ready....
Ellipsis - Boston's newest contemporary mime troup - turns this set-up into a starting point for exploring perspective, form and a messier-than-average relationship.

Fresh from their inaugural production and a critical acclaimed turn at the Boston Theatre Marathon,
Way Theatre Artists joins FeverFest for the first time with The Kiss, a short play by Mark Harvey Levine in which a young man about to embark on a date tests his kissing skills on a friend.

Imaginary Beasts returns to FeverFest, carrying a full bucket of theatrical magic with
Impossible Things, or Treacle from the Well, a vibrant imagining of what those three little ladies at the bottom of Lewis Carroll's treacle well would be up to...if they were still there!

Also returning this year, Mill 6 Collaborative presents Fate, by Elizabeth Horshursh, in which a mysterious letter ignites romantic flights of fancy for a pair of passionate strangers. And in a special twist, two brave actors will allow Fate to guide their performances - each night's casting will be determined by the toss of a coin.

And finally, Whistler's own artistic leadership is pleased to present their newest exploration.
We all know Psyche as the patient and penitent lover of Love itself.
What really went through her mind as she went on her quest?
