Mary's Wedding

Mary’s Wedding
By Steven Massicotte
November 14th-30th, 2008
Boston Premiere!

A young bride-to-be dreams one last time of love and war. When Mary and Charlie find each other seeking shelter in a barn during a summer thunderstorm, a tentative love is born. But the year is 1914, the world is about to fall under the dark clouds of the Great War. An exhilarating story of first love, as well as a profound and riveting tale of war, remembrance and the sacrifice made by soldiers at home and in the battlefield.

A love letter to the power of memory, hope and innocent dreams.

The Bacchae
By Euripides
May 1st-17th, 2009

“You do not know the limits of your own strength.
You do not know what you do.
You do not know who you are.”

When Gods and mortals spar the results set both a king and a city on a path to tragedy.  When the citizens of Thebes deny the divinity of Dionysos, he punishes them by inciting the women into a frenzy – driving them from their homes into the mountains where they enact the wild rituals of worship to Bacchus. The young king Pentheus wrestles the god for control of his city, but will his lack of understanding lead to his ruination?

An undeniable masterpiece, Euripides’ The Bacchae is a primal and powerful play that has remained relevant for 2500 years.
