Whistler in the Dark Theatre was founded by Ben Fainstein and Meg Taintor in September 2005 as an exploration: its inception has been sparked by the desire to delve into vividly dramatic texts and to bring back young people to the theatre. During its first three seasons, Whistler has presented six full-length plays, and sponsored three years of FeverFest – a festival devoted providing opportunities to connect exploratory artists with adventurous audiences by creating an outlet for innovative, cutting-edge, and contemporary performance in the Greater Boston area . Whistler received an Elliot Norton Award nomination for its production of Howard Barker's The Possibilities.
